Job summary

The City of Midwest City is seeking a Capital Projects Engineer in the Public Works Administration Department to lead planning and execution of capital improvement projects.

Responsibilities include directing project management teams, coordinating with consultants and agencies, and ensuring compliance with funding and regulatory requirements. Requires a four-year Civil Engineering degree, Oklahoma PE or eligibility, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Requires a four-year degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer by the State of Oklahoma or the ability to obtain registration within six months.
• Must possess a valid state driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Manages the Public Works capital improvement plans including prioritization of projects.
• Manages capital projects from inception through completion including scope, bids, grants, procurement, and overall project management.
• Plans, directs, and supervises the work of the Public Works project managers and inspectors.
• Interviews and selects new personnel and coordinates on‑the‑job training.
• Coordinates engineering planning with consultants, other cities, state, county, and federal agencies.
