Job summary

The City of Hampton in Virginia is seeking a Senior Budget and Management Analyst to assist with the preparation, administration, and management of the City’s operating budget. This role works independently and as part of a collaborative team under the Budget Manager, supporting data-driven decision-making across City departments and shaping financial planning for the community.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and have several years of experience in budgeting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a field related to budgeting, program/project management or financial analysis.
• Minimum of three (3) years of full-time professional experience in budgeting, program/project management or management/policy and financial analysis, preferably in municipal government.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation, administration, and management of the City’s operating budget.
• Work independently and as part of a collaborative team under the Budget Manager or designee; support data-driven decision-making across City departments.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, or a closely related field
