Job summary

Gainesville & Alachua Transportation Planning Organization (GACTPO) seeks a high-competency transportation planner to provide multidisciplinary planning support and technical assistance to senior staff.

The role focuses on implementing federal and state planning requirements, developing long-range and project-specific plans, and collaborating with local jurisdictions and the public to improve mobility and safety for people and goods in Alachua County and Gainesville.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in planning, transportation planning, urban or related field and one year of professional planning experience or equivalent.
• Successful completion of all applicable background checks is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development and updates of LRTP, TIP, UPWP and related plans and reports.
• Collaborate with partners and the public to promote multimodal transportation planning.
• Lead or participate in corridor studies, complete streets projects and safety initiatives.
• Collect, analyze and report performance data and prepare briefing materials for the Board.
