Job summary

Toole Design Group in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Senior or Principal Civil Engineer to lead the design and delivery of high-profile transportation projects. You will mentor teams and lead client meetings, ensuring safe, multimodal, and equitable outcomes.

The ideal candidate holds a North Carolina P.E. license (or can obtain within 6 months) and has 10+ years of complex transportation project management, with strong NC market connections and experience in multimodal and roadway design.

Qualifications

• NC P.E. license required or ability to obtain within six months.
• 10+ years of complex transportation project management experience.
• Proven leadership of multi-discipline infrastructure design and construction teams.
• Strong networks in NC transportation market (DOT, municipalities, consultants).
• Experience in multimodal transportation and roadway design; comfortable presenting.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of highly visible transportation projects.
• Guide civil design teams on temporary/permanent safety improvements and capacity expansions.
• Mentor junior staff; lead client meetings; support NC business development.
