Job summary

Toole Design Group in Providence, RI is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to lead impactful multimodal transportation projects that align with our mission of safer, more connected communities. You will collaborate with planners, engineers, and designers to develop concept plans, feasibility studies, and construction documents that balance safety and mobility for all users.

You will mentor colleagues, contribute to business development, and work with a talented team dedicated to improving streets

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, or ability to obtain within six months
• 10+ years of transportation engineering experience with project or task management experience
• Excellence in client service
• Basic understanding of roadway design principles, MUTCD standards, MassDOT standards
• Strong knowledge of signal timing and phasing best practices and modeling in Synchro software
• Interest in multimodal design and measures of effectiveness for all roadway users

Responsibilities

• Lead and collaborate on a wide variety of multimodal transportation projects
• Develop concept plans, feasibility studies, and construction documents
• Mentor colleagues and contribute to business development efforts
• Balance safety, mobility, and community needs in design decisions
• Lead a project team using tools like Synchro, Highway Capacity Software, MicroStation, and AutoCAD
