Job summary

Meta's Applied AI (AAI) organization seeks a Senior Software Engineer for Multimedia & Multimodal AI. You will own data, pipelines, and evaluation across image, video, audio, and speech modalities, building end-to-end systems from research ideas to production.

You will mentor engineers, contribute to hiring, and raise the bar on quality and responsible AI practices while advancing state-of-the-art methods and scalable architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of programming in a relevant language or 3+ years with PhD.
• 3+ years building ML systems in production or research settings.
• Strong Python and PyTorch.
• Experience with speech, audio, or music ML (ASR, TTS, codecs, MIR, etc.).
• Experience with large-scale data pipelines and distributed training.
• Track record translating research ideas into working systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and build agentic workflows and pipelines, including human-in-the-loop designs, to automate data production and scale output.
• Design and own data pipelines at scale: ingestion, filtering, pseudo-labeling, captioning, and provenance tracking.
• Build evaluation infrastructure: objective metrics, human listening tests, and correlation analysis.
• Improve training efficiency and reliability: distributed training, GPU utilization, and experiment management.
• Reproduce and extend state-of-the-art research by implementing papers into codebases and running ablations.
• Mentor engineers, contribute to hiring/onboarding, raise the bar on evaluation and quality practices.
• Build and train generative and representation models for speech, sound, and music.
