Job summary

Freddie Mac in McLean, VA is seeking a Multifamily Underwriting Professional to join the Targeted Affordable Housing team. You will evaluate credit risk, review investment briefs, and drive closings on multifamily loans collateralized by affordable housing properties.

You will support underwriting 2+ transactions, analyze cash flows, market data and borrower financials, and collaborate with producers to structure deals and present them for approval.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of related professional experience in multifamily or CRE finance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build toward credit approval and closing individual mortgage loans collateralized by multifamily properties.
• Accurately review and ensure concise, complete, and clear Investment Briefs and ensure data quality for loan securitization.
• Analyze unique affordable housing pro forma statements, resolve issues, structure deals with Producers, present for approval.
• Develop resolutions to problems of limited scope following detailed procedures.
