Job description

The Company is a dynamic and versatile multifamily and student housing operator specializing in acquisitions, renovations, and asset management and has acquired over $500MM of existing core-plus, value-add and distressed communities in the last 24 months, across select, high-growth U.S cities. The Company also targets unique credit opportunities in the multifamily space. The Company takes an AI First approach embedding machine intelligence directly into its operations, culture, and management of properties.

Position

Reporting directly to the Founder and Managing Partner, the Senior Multifamily Asset Management Analyst will assist in the review and analysis of property operational and financial reports to ensure income and expense performance, revenue growth, and expense control. This person will be responsible for utilizing Business Intelligence and AI-First platforms to evaluate and monitor operational performance. This is a support role with responsibilities to include monitoring the assets, establishing and maintaining relationships with outside parties (leasing agents, brokers, property managers, contractors, partners, tenants, vendors, etc.), formulating and executing business plans for assets, and analysis of operational issues.

Responsibilities

The Senior Multifamily Asset Management Analyst will focus on supporting Asset Management to preserve and enhance asset performance. The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the review and analysis of property operational and financial reports to ensure income and expense performance, revenue growth, and expense control for multifamily apartment properties.
  • Review and assist with annual budgets from property managers, including capital plans.
  • Assist with the formulation and execution of business plans for each multifamily apartment property.
  • Utilize Business Intelligence and AI-First platforms as well as vendor dashboards to monitor operational performance.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of capital improvement strategies.
  • Review monthly reports from property managers/accounting, including operational issues, prepare internal reports regarding operations where needed.
  • Work with attorneys on all documentation and any legal issues.
  • Evaluate insurance needs for each property and work with internal and external teams to obtain appropriate insurance.
  • Assist with the delivery of new and improved assets to the portfolio. Ensure efficient receipt and transition of assets.
  • Assess and report financial performance of assets.
  • Assist in due diligence process on acquisitions and dispositions.
  • Partner with owner, vendors, leasing agents, property managers, brokers, and contractors to ensure effective management of properties.
  • Monitor ongoing business activity and recommend improvements to properties, policies, and practices.
  • Some travel may be expected.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Real Estate, Business or Finance, preferred.
  • 1 - 3 years of commercial underwriting or analyst experience; multifamily experience preferred; retail, office, hotel, industrial, and mixed-use facilities experience will be considered.
  • Strong analytical skills and a self-starting, forward thinking, individual who has substantial experience building proforma models in Excel for multifamily apartment properties.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with management, third-party agents, legal counsel, etc.
  • Strong background in utilizing BI and AI platforms for all tasks including investor and financial reporting.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Knowledge of industry trends in real estate and development and a natural desire to understand specific market characteristics.
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.
