Job summary

Leidos is seeking an AWS Cloud Engineer to support the U.S. Air Force Cloud One Architecture and ACSS contract.

This role spans AWS, Azure, GCP, and Oracle Cloud, delivering scalable cloud-native solutions with a focus on resiliency, security, and cost effectiveness. You will design, deploy, and sustain cloud environments, mentor engineers, and implement IaC, CI/CD, and zero-trust security in a mixed on-site/remote setup, with expected collaboration across development, security, and operations

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance required to start.
• US citizenship required.
• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience or Master's with 6+ years experience.
• Expert-level experience designing and supporting cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI).
• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code, automation, and DevOps/DevSecOps practices.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native application architectures.
• Advanced knowledge of Linux/Unix systems, networking, and cloud security concepts.
• Proficiency in scripting/programming languages (Python, Bash, Go).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide cloud operations and engineering tasks to sustain scalable, resilient, and secure cloud solutions across AWS.
• Perform cloud operations, sustainment, and maintenance to optimize performance and security.
• Develop cloud strategy and roadmaps aligned with objectives and requirements.
• Evaluate emerging cloud technologies to maximize automation and impact.
• Drive adoption of DevOps practices, IaC, and automation frameworks.
• Containerize applications to enhance scalability and deployment efficiency.
• Support design and sustainment of secure cloud architectures with zero-trust principles.
• Ensure compliance with SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and regulatory requirements.
• Architect, implement and maintain cloud networking security controls including STIG requirements.
• Implement IAM solutions and security monitoring frameworks.
