Job summary

AbbVie Inc. is seeking a Field-based Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to strategically support research and business objectives within a designated therapeutic area across a US geography.

The Senior MSL will be a primary science communicator to healthcare professionals and maintain professional relationships to support AbbVie's initiatives. The role combines clinical expertise with strategic vision to facilitate information, education, and research activities for physicians and other healthcare

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a health science or clinical discipline (PharmD/MD/DO/PhD).
• Typically requires 3 years of relevant experience for Senior MSL.
• Typically requires 0–2 years of relevant experience for an MSL.
• Ability to translate territory and corporate needs to support customers and objectives.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop, and maintain professional relationships with thought leaders and researchers in assigned therapeutic areas.
• Present scientific information about disease state and AbbVie products to healthcare professionals.
• Support research initiatives by coordinating site evaluation, recruitment, and investigator meetings.
• Prepare the marketplace in new therapeutic areas and build AbbVie awareness in the medical community.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners and field teams to execute Account plans.
• Serve as a medical/scientific resource to healthcare providers and answer unsolicited questions.
• Provide ongoing training to medical affairs, field sales, and internal staff.
• Demonstrate strategic segmentation and efficient resource use.
• Maintain compliance with corporate policies and document interactions accurately.
