Job summary

Maximus seeks an experienced MQ Administrator to support a federal client’s defense systems in Homeland Security. The role covers daily operations and IBM MQ environment administration, ensuring secure, reliable message flow across on-site applications.

Candidates should have an active Secret clearance and strong MQ expertise. The position emphasizes monitoring, security maintenance, and thorough documentation to uphold high availability and compliance standards within a critical infrastructure

Qualifications

Active Secret clearance is required.
U.S. citizens with no dual citizenship due to federal contract.
7+ years of experience in an MQ Administrator role or related field.
Experience with IBM MQ and WebSphere.

Responsibilities

Operational Monitoring: regularly monitor MQ systems for uptime and performance; ensure smooth operation of queues, channels, and MQ objects.
Security Administration: manage MQ users, implement security protocols, ensure secure data transmissions.
Incident Resolution: provide first-line troubleshooting for MQ issues and coordinate with support teams to maintain availability.
Maintenance and Updates: schedule and apply routine updates, patches, and configuration changes.
Backup and Recovery: execute backup/recovery procedures and participate in disaster recovery drills.
