Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for its Motorsports Software team to deliver high-performance IT solutions that support race operations across F1, NASCAR, IndyCar, and more.

You will lead the development of scalable applications using C#, .NET, React, and Azure, in a fast-paced, hybrid work setting with on-call rotations during key events. Collaboration with cross-functional partners is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 yrs of professional software development experience.
• Minimum 3 yrs of experience developing web or Electron applications.
• Excellent knowledge of C#/.NET and React.
• Strong experience with Azure and cloud resources.
• Solid understanding of software development best practices (code reviews, CI/CD, testing, documentation).
• Experience in an agile/scrum environment implementing full stack features.
• UI design experience and UX principles understanding.
• Knowledge of multiple web platforms and reuse strategies.
• Proven track record of maintaining and debugging live production systems.

Responsibilities

• Full lifecycle application development using standard frameworks and design patterns.
• Develop high-quality software applications using industry-standard methodologies.
• Demonstrate proficiency across multiple programming languages, tools, and technologies.
• Perform performance tuning, profiling, and usability improvements.
• Identify and remediate software issues related to code quality, security, and patterns.
• Debug, maintain, and enhance live systems used in trackside operations.
• Collaborate with Motorsports Engineering, trackside operations, and Global Engineering.
• Mentor junior developers and review code to uphold standards.
