Job summary

ABB is seeking an experienced engineer to drive the next generation of electric motor products in our Fort Smith, AR facility. You will lead prototype development from concept through completion, bridging design intent with production feasibility while upholding quality and schedule targets.

You will apply advanced design methods and work with cross-functional teams to resolve challenges, provide technical leadership, and support ABB specifications and industry standards.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering or related field with significant experience in electric motors.
• Experience applying motor design principles and ABB engineering tools.
• Experience leading prototype development and bridging design with production.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical designs for industrial motors meeting ABB specs and standards.
• Lead prototype development strategies, plan timelines, and coordinate tooling requirements.
• Collaborate with R&D and cross-functional teams to resolve design challenges and approve material substitutions.
• Provide technical leadership and serve as a resource for problem-solving within design teams.
