ABB in Fort Smith, Arkansas is seeking a talented R&D Associate Electrical Engineer to support a team of electrical engineers in achieving R&D targets and advancing electric motor technologies. This role emphasizes AC induction motor design, modeling, testing, and collaboration across product management, manufacturing, and quality to define specifications and drive performance.

You will contribute to technology development, product development projects, and the creation of intellectual property

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
Experience with electric motor technologies and advanced design methodologies (FEA).
Candidates must have work authorization to work in the US.

Responsibilities

Acts as an independent and reliable contributor with limited supervision on technology development and product development projects.
Creates electrical designs for industrial motors from fractional to integral horsepower per internal specs and standards; emphasizes AC induction designs and testing.
Analyzes motor test data for performance verification and stays current with state-of-the-art electrical engineering concepts.
Collaborates with Product Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Sales to develop specifications and ensure customer value creation.
