Job summary

W3Global is seeking an experienced Motion Systems Engineer in Lake Mary, FL, to lead the design of high-precision X/Y/Z and Theta/rotary motion platforms for laser processing and automation equipment.

You will take concepts through prototype, testing and production, selecting servo drives, actuators, encoders and motion controllers, and developing CAD models and drawings to deliver robust systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics related field.
• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Proven experience designing multi-axis motion systems.
• Hands-on experience with servo systems, drives, actuators, encoders and motion controllers.

Responsibilities

• Design multi-axis X/Y/Z + Theta/rotary motion systems, stages, and gantries.
• Integrate servo motors, drives, actuators, encoders, and motion controllers.
• Develop 3D CAD models, assemblies, drawings and engineering designs.
• Evaluate design calculations, component selection and tolerances.
• Integrate motion systems with PLCs, robotics, and automation systems.
• Test, commission and optimize motion systems.
• Manage projects from concept through production.
