Job summary

Novanta is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to define, design, integrate, and validate advanced motion products and systems for life science and industrial applications.

You will collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to translate needs into robust technical solutions, drive verification and validation activities, and provide engineering leadership to ensure performance and customer satisfaction across complex projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in systems engineering, motion control, mechatronics, automation, or a related product development environment.
• Strong understanding of motion control technologies (stepper, servo, piezo) and related feedback devices.
• Excellent communication, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, development, integration, and implementation of complex motion products and systems.
• Collaborate with customers and cross-functional stakeholders to understand application needs and translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Define and execute verification and validation activities and provide technical guidance to engineering teams.
• Manage risks and assist with system architecture decisions and project execution to ensure customer satisfaction.
