Job summary

Kelly Services is assisting a fast-growing robotics company in the Boston area recruit a Senior Robotics Engineer to own motion planning for a robotic platform. You will work with real robots, tackling multi-axis motion, kinematics, and real-time trajectory execution in a hands-on, production-focused environment.

You will contribute to architecture decisions and drive robotics software from development to field deployment, leveraging ROS 2, MoveIt 2, and advanced planning algorithms.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on MoveIt/MoveIt2 in production or near-production systems.
• Deep expertise in motion planning algorithms (RRT, RRT*, PRM, CHOMP, STOMP, TrajOpt).
• Strong C++ and/or Python in ROS 2 ecosystem.
• Understanding of forward/inverse kinematics and solvers (KDL, TRAC-IK).
• Experience with collision avoidance and safety-aware motion planning.
• URDF/SRDF models and planning scenes configuration.
• Robotics hardware experience and actuator constraints awareness.
• Knowledge of velocity/acceleration/joint limits.
• Experience with robotics software in production environments.
• Experience with robotic simulation environments.

Responsibilities

• Own motion planning architecture for a robotic platform in production.
• Work directly with physical robots solving multi-axis motion and trajectory execution.
• Collaborate to influence architecture and technical direction from development to field deployment.
