Job summary

DoorDash Labs is seeking a seasoned Senior Planner Engineer to ship production-level autonomy systems with expertise in motion planning and trajectory optimization for unstructured, dynamic environments. You will design, implement, and deploy planning algorithms that generate safe, reliable motion amid uncertain agent behaviors and real-time constraints enabling fully autonomous delivery.

Qualifications

• Seasoned Senior Planner Engineer with track record shipping production autonomy systems.
• Expertise in motion planning and trajectory optimization for dynamic unstructured environments.
• Experience designing and deploying real-time planning algorithms in robotics.
• Strong C++ software engineering and data-driven evaluation experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and ship real-time behavior and motion planning features for complex urban/suburb driving scenarios.
• Lead motion planning and trajectory optimization for unstructured highly dynamic environments.
• Lead automation of root-cause analysis and reduce planner-related disengagements and long-tail failures.
• Build scalable evaluation, simulation, and validation frameworks for safe rollout to new geo-fenced regions.
• Collaborate with perception, prediction, controls, and platform teams for end-to-end autonomy improvements.
• Contribute to architecture decisions to improve planner robustness, generalization, and computational efficiency.
