Job summary

Loud Solutions is seeking a Senior Robotics Planning Engineer in San Francisco (5 days on-site) to lead high-level autonomy for 200+ ton autonomous haul trucks in mining environments. You will shape motion, coordination, and fleet planning from the ground up, collaborating with controls and systems engineers during live deployments.

Requirements include 5+ years in robotics/motion planning or autonomous systems, strong Python and C++, and experience with NumPy/SciPy/Shapely/Numba; Linux

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in robotics planning, motion planning, or autonomous vehicle systems.
• Strong Python and C++ programming skills.
• Experience with NumPy, SciPy, Shapely, or Numba.
• Comfort working on production systems deployed on physical hardware.
• Linux-based systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop trajectory planning and path planning systems for 200+ ton autonomous haul trucks, ensuring smooth navigation and minimizing unnecessary stops.
• Design intersection management systems to minimize total wait time across multi-vehicle operations.
• Build coordination planning systems to manage multiple vehicles with intersecting trajectories, preventing deadlocks and collisions.
• Create fleet planning algorithms that translate site-wide state into active assignments for each truck.
• Collaborate with controls and systems engineers to validate planning concepts during live deployments; some testing schedule flexibility.
