Job description

On behalf of our client, a fast-growing autonomy company deploying autonomous haul trucks in mining and quarry operations worldwide, we're hiring a Robotics Systems Engineer. Our client's technology is already live in production across multiple sites, and the company is scaling fast with over $1.7B recently raised.

We're looking for a Robotics Systems Engineer with 2-4+ years of experience to join a small, high-impact systems team and help scale autonomy deployments globally. This is an opportunity to be one of the first engineers shaping how autonomy is deployed on real vehicles, not in simulation. We need someone who thrives in ambiguity, is motivated by building from the ground up, and has hands-on experience deploying robotics systems in the real world.

What You'll Do
  • Integrate and validate autonomy capabilities on real autonomous haul trucks, taking features from prototype to reliable performance on production vehicles
  • Own system-level integration across sensors, compute, networking, and software stacks, ensuring everything performs correctly during testing phases
  • Lead technical execution for new truck platform bring-ups, working with hardware teams on sensor integration, calibration, and performance tuning across multiple OEM brands (Hitachi, Komatsu, Toyota, Hyundai)
  • Build and improve diagnostics, validation criteria, and release gates for production readiness across a growing international fleet
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with planning, controls, operations, and safety teams to deliver robust autonomy behavior in mission-critical mining environments
What We're Looking For
  • 2-4+ years of experience in robotics or autonomous vehicle systems engineering
  • Strong Python and C++ programming skills
  • Experience with Linux-based robotics systems
  • Experience bringing up new vehicle or robot platforms from prototype to production
  • BS in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% to customer mine sites
Nice to Have
  • Experience with ROS
  • Experience with sensor fusion and camera-based perception pipelines
  • Master's or PhD in Robotics or a related field
  • Experience with calibration workflows or CAN interfaces
  • Location: San Francisco, CA (5 days on-site, SoMa)
  • Full-time
  • Open to visa transfers (OPT, H1B transfers)
