Job summary

Strava is seeking a Senior Motion Designer to join our Creative team. You will craft a cohesive motion language across brand campaigns, social content, and digital touchpoints, partnering with creative directors, designers, and copywriters to bring ideas to life.

You will help evolve motion systems, explore AI-assisted workflows, and manage projects end-to-end with minimal direction, delivering high-quality work across marketing and product experiences.

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of experience as a Motion Designer with a portfolio showing you can execute independently across a range of formats and complexity, ideally including brand or campaign work.
• Experience with Rive is not required, though we’d love someone excited to learn it, as it is our tool used for motion and interactivity in product.
• A collaborative, solutions-first approach: you work through obstacles proactively and bring options, not just problems.
• Experience with UI/UX motion is a plus; Working knowledge of 3D tools is a plus (Cinema 4D or Spline).

Responsibilities

• Develop and standardize motion design language and a cohesive visual approach for Strava and Runna campaigns.
• Collaborate with creative directors, designers, and copywriters to bring ideas to life.
• Contribute to and evolve motion systems and templates for marketing and product experiences.
• Manage projects end-to-end, anticipating production needs and prioritizing by business impact.
• Generate multiple strong creative directions from briefs and defend the strongest option.
• Partner with teams to maintain quality and consistency without constant reference to guidelines.
