Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a Mortgage Underwriter or in a related underwriting role.
- Strong knowledge of mortgage underwriting guidelines and credit analysis.
- Familiarity with FHA, VA, conventional loan programs.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle a high volume of applications.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze mortgage loan applications, credit reports, and property appraisals.
- Assess borrower's financial stability, credit history, and repayment capacity.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and investor guidelines and regulations.
- Make sound decisions on loan approval, denial, or counter-offer.
- Communicate effectively with loan originators, processors, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of mortgage lending policies and industry best practices.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with loan applications.
