Job summary

Fifth Third Bank seeks a Mortgage Processor III for California, handling processing and underwriting of residential loans from intake to disposition. You will coordinate with Mortgage Loan Originators and internal teams to meet closing deadlines, while maintaining accurate data and strong customer service.

The role requires at least three years of processing experience, solid knowledge of conventional and government loan guidelines, and proficiency with MS Office and mortgage origination

Qualifications

• Three or more years of residential mortgage processing experience.
• Knowledge of conventional, government, and portfolio underwriting guidelines.
• Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with mortgage origination systems and Microsoft Office.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Manage a pipeline of conventional, government, and/or portfolio loans.
• Process conventional, FHA, VA, Bond, USDA, and other loan types.
• Evaluate documents, income, assets, liabilities, and conditions per guidelines.
• Validate automated underwriting decisions per authority.
• Maintain proactive communication with borrowers and loan originators.
• Assist in training new hires and escalation within the team.
