Job summary

Cornerstone Servicing, a division of Cornerstone Capital Bank, seeks a Senior Default Claims Specialist to manage FHA/VA/USDA/MI/Freddie Mac/Fannie Mae claims and ensure timely filing in compliance with investor and insurer guidelines.

You will oversee a portfolio across foreclosure, loss mitigation and liquidation events, stay current on regulatory changes, and collaborate with leadership to close process gaps.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Default Claims.
• 5+ years of Mortgage Servicing.
• 1+ years of experience in LoanSphere Claims.
• Hands-on experience with Default Claims across all listed types.
• Strong communication and time-management skills.
• Familiarity with Black Knight MSP platform.

Responsibilities

• Understands and manages claim milestones to ensure tasks are processed in compliance with state and federal laws while maintaining guidelines.
• Stays current with regulatory and investor guideline changes and communicates impact to leadership.
• Prepare and file FHA/VA/USDA/MI/Freddie Mac/Fannie Mae claims timely and accurately per guidelines.
• Manage a portfolio of claims from Foreclosure, Loss Mitigation and liquidation events.
• Cross train on Loss Analysis; data input and AOP review.
• Monitor properties for title transfer and claim reimbursement per guidelines.
• Inform leadership of trends, impediments and denials/curtailments.
• Ensure all claim documents are imaged and provided timely.
• Learn new skills and expand job knowledge as needed.
• Understand default waterfall and its impact on claims processes.
• Prioritize work to meet deadlines and SLAs.
• Identify gaps in policies and provide solutions.
• Assist in training new team members.
