Job summary

Sunflower Bank, N.A. seeks a seasoned Residential Mortgage Appraisal Review Manager to lead the appraisal desk and oversee review operations. The role requires deep knowledge of USPAP, FNMA/FHLMC guidelines, FHA/VA/USDA, and internal policies, with emphasis on timely closings and quality.

You will supervise staff, manage the appraiser panel, ensure regulatory compliance, mentor team members, and drive process improvements across the mortgage division.

Qualifications

• Active State Certified Residential Appraiser or State Certified General Appraiser license.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 5 years of residential appraisal experience.
• Minimum 3 years of appraisal review experience.
• Minimum 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong working knowledge of USPAP, FNMA and FHLMC appraisal requirements, FHA/VA/USDA guidelines, Interagency guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex residential appraisal reviews for compliance, quality, credibility, and adherence to industry standards.
• Review appraisals for conformity with USPAP, FNMA/FHLMC, FHA/VA/USDA guidelines, and internal policies.
• Monitor appraisal review workflows to ensure timely completion and support on-time loan closings.
• Identify trends, risks, and opportunities for process improvement within appraisal operations.
• Provide guidance on complex valuation scenarios and exception requests.
• Oversee daily operations of the Appraisal Desk, manage orders from assignment to final review.
• Monitor pipeline volumes, turnaround times, service levels, and workload balancing.
• Manage appraiser panel processes, including approvals, due diligence, and performance monitoring.
