Job summary

TSMC Washington, LLC is seeking a Principal Technical Lead in Software Engineering for the North America Software Center to optimize MongoDB-based operations and Lakehouse workflows at scale. You will lead performance enhancements, reliability improvements, and data architecture initiatives across global teams.

The role demands 8+ years in database ops, cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP), and strong leadership with hands-on coding in Java/Python/Go/Rust.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead efforts in optimizing MongoDB for performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Analyze and resolve operational challenges, ensuring continuous improvement for mission-critical systems.
• Guide teams in designing, implementing, and maintaining highly performant and optimized data pipelines.
• Collaborate with Software Engineers and Data Architects to improve system infrastructure through monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting MongoDB systems.
• Define and implement best practices for managing data systems, including backup, recovery, and high availability strategies.
• Lead cross-team discussions on operations, scalability, and architectural refinements for database and data warehouse systems.
• Contribute to the lifecycle of systems from conceptual design through implementation, deployment, and optimization.
• Mentor team members to ensure deep understanding of database and Lakehouse optimization techniques.
