TSMC Washington, LLC in Vancouver, WA, is seeking a seasoned software engineer to optimize MongoDB at a global scale within our North America Software Center. You will improve performance, reliability, and data pipelines across cloud environments.

The role requires 8+ years of experience in database operations, strong Java/Python/Go/Rust skills, and 3+ years leading teams. Onsite Monday–Friday, with a competitive salary and full benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in CS, Information Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in database operations and optimization with hands-on MongoDB.
• Proven track record of improving performance and scalability in database and Lakehouse environments.
• Experience in Java, Python, Go, Rust or similar languages.
• 3+ years of cloud computing experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP) focusing on database workloads.
• Strong technical leadership with at least 3 years in a lead role.
• Experience with version control tools such as Git, GitLab, or GitHub.
• Excellent communication across global teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead efforts in optimizing MongoDB for performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Analyze and resolve operational challenges, ensuring continuous improvement for mission-critical systems.
• Guide teams in designing, implementing, and maintaining highly performant data pipelines.
• Collaborate with Software Engineers and Data Architects to improve system infrastructure through monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting MongoDB systems.
• Define and implement best practices for managing data systems, including backup, recovery, and high availability strategies.
• Lead cross-team discussions on operations, scalability, and architectural refinements for database and data warehouse systems.
• Contribute to the lifecycle of systems from conceptual design through deployment and optimization.
• Mentor team members to ensure deep understanding of database and Lakehouse optimization techniques.
