Job summary

Machine Learning Technologies, LLC is seeking a MongoDB DBA to configure and manage multi-node MongoDB deployments, including replica sets and sharded clusters, on Linux. The role emphasizes security (X.509, TLS), automation (Python, shell scripts), and efficient data distribution.

Responsibilities include onboarding clusters to Ops Manager, performing upgrades, and documenting configurations and procedures to ensure robust, scalable database operations.

Qualifications

• Experience with MongoDB deployment and administration.
• Hands-on experience with replica sets and sharded clusters.
• Knowledge of security mechanisms including X.509 and TLS.
• Automation using Python and shell scripting.

Responsibilities

• Configure MongoDB replica sets and sharded clusters as per application requirements.
• Set up Ops Manager and onboard replica sets and sharded clusters onto Ops Manager.
• Enhance security using X509 and TLS authentication to comply with Apple standards.
• Automate backup/restore/monitoring jobs using Python and shell scripting.
• Design, install, and configure multi-node MongoDB sharded clusters on Linux.
• Add/remove replica and shard nodes; create text indexes for queries.
• Ensure even data distribution with shard keys; manage data growth.
• Migrate replica set to sharded cluster as data grows and performance needs rise.
• Deploy, migrate data, monitor, analyze, and tune MongoDB.
• Maintain deep Ops Manager knowledge and perform upgrades.
• Understand Groups and Projects in Ops Manager.
• Manage authentication/authorization and X509 authentication.
• Configure SSL key files across all mongod instances for security.
• Leverage replication architecture and change streams for monitoring.
• Document MongoDB installation, operations, security, and auditing.
• Gain knowledge of query plan architecture and host/DB-level tuning.
• Know range-based and hash-based sharding and indexing.
