Job summary

OpenAI’s Monetization Data Systems team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and build the next generation of the monetization data platform. You will own high-impact platform systems end to end, from architecture and implementation through testing, deployment, observability, and ongoing operation.

This hands-on role rewards solving ambiguous problems with durable systems and partnering closely with Product, Data, Finance, Accounting, and GTM to deliver reliable, scalable product

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production systems.
• Proficient in at least one general-purpose language (Go, Java, Python, Rust, C++).
• Strong fundamentals in API design, data modeling, storage systems, distributed systems, and event-driven architecture.
• Experience designing systems with correctness, reliability, security or privacy requirements.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the monetization data platform end to end, from architecture to deployment.
• Own high-impact platform systems, including testing, observability, and ongoing operation.
• Translate customer and business problems into durable, scalable designs for product experiences.
