Job summary

Milwaukee Tool in Wisconsin is seeking a Journeyman Mold & Tool Maker to work on plastic injection molds, tools, and fixtures, collaborating with operations, engineering and process technicians to repair and build tooling.

The role involves troubleshooting tooling, setting up CNC and conventional equipment, inspecting tooling readiness, and implementing continuous improvement projects to optimize production processes.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with tooling repair and fabrication.
• Journeyman Mold/Tool & Die background required.
• Experience with CNC and conventional machine shop equipment.

Responsibilities

• Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of mold components.
• Study blueprints and models to repair or fabricate tools and dies.
• Troubleshoot production and prototype tooling.
• Make mold changes to support production schedule.
• Set up and operate lathes, mills, grinders, and related equipment.
• Inspect tooling for production readiness.
• Fit and assemble dies, jigs, gauges and tools.
• Participate in tryouts to ensure parts meet specs and adjust as needed.
• Record tooling repair history in the maintenance system.
• Develop preventive maintenance for molds and stamping dies.
• Build/modify spare parts and estimate repair times.
• Identify improvement opportunities and drive projects.
