Job summary

SpaceX in Texas is seeking a Tool & Die Specialist to support the commissioning, maintenance, and repairs of injection molding, die-casting, and stamping tools. You will collaborate with production and maintenance teams to ensure tooling readiness for high-volume manufacturing.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of hands-on experience with tool and die maintenance, welding, CNC machining, and a proven track record in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 5+ years of hands-on technician experience with tool maintenance and/or repair with plastic injection molds.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance, repair, and modification of molds for plastic injection and die casting of various sizes.
• Disassembly and assembly of molds safely and efficiently
• Repair and/or fabricate cores, cavities, and other components
• Hand work repairs to part details, parting lines, lifters, slides, polished cavities, texture, venting, and spotting
• Support production and maintenance with troubleshooting
• Create and maintain mold spare parts lists
• Identify and implement proactive systems to reduce defects and improve productivity
• Support design engineering to evaluate tooling changes and feasibility
• Assist process engineering with part processing and troubleshooting for scrap reduction, cycle time reduction, and downtime reduction
