Job summary

Astrion is seeking a Modeling and Simulation Engineer / SME to join the Space Systems Integration Office (SSIO) within Space Systems Command (SSC) at Los Angeles AFB, El Segundo, CA. The role requires a TS with SCI eligibility and 15+ years in a STEM field, with leadership of technical teams and extensive M&S experience.

You will develop mission-specific M&S services, establish V&V procedures, and collaborate across governance offices to advance SATCOM, PNT, and related space systems.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in a relevant field is required.
• M.S. degree in a relevant field is required.
• 15+ years in a STEM field with emphasis in engineering, physics or math.
• Experience in design, development and deployment of complex technical systems in SSIO mission space.
• Proficiency in systems engineering and at least one implementation technology.
• Lead technical implementation teams and manage projects.
• Experience in team development and leadership training.
• Strong communication, both written and oral.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
• Willing to travel as required and hold TS/SCI clearance

Responsibilities

• Support SSIO with mission-specific Modeling & Simulation services and analyses.
• Develop requirements traceability from Mission Areas to MS&M simulations.
• Model systems and scenarios to evaluate modernization options.
• Assess system vulnerability, survivability, and performance improvements.
• Support technology readiness, utility trades, and intelligence gathering.
• Establish MS&A verification and validation procedures for tools.
• Conduct V&V of models used by SSC/SSIO and maintain govt models.
• Assist with JCIDS documentation and enterprise requirements.
• Analyze cross-cutting space requirements impacting simulations.
• Develop briefings, technical reports and architectural roadmaps.
• Collaborate with SWAC, CSRO/S5R, and PEO offices to prioritize MS&A.
