Job summary

Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. (SPA) in Colorado Springs seeks a Modeling & Simulation Engineer at the senior/ SME level to join the Space Systems Group. You will build digital models of complex real-world systems, design and run simulations, and present findings to sponsors.

Required are a US Citizenship with TS/SCI clearance, a Bachelor's in a related field, and 10+ years in Operations Research, M&S, or Model-Based Systems Engineering. Travel/onsite work in Colorado Springs may be needed.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship with TS/SCI clearance at time of application with ability to obtain and maintain SAP clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in Math, Statistics, Engineering, Physical Science, Operations Research, Data Science, or related field
• 10+ years of professional experience in Operations Research, Modeling & Simulation, and/or Model-Based Systems Engineering
• Experience in data analysis and visualization using Excel, Python, or R
• Ability to develop and apply rigorous analytic approaches to problem solving
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills; technical presentation during interview
• Willingness to report to Colorado Springs location, up to full time

Responsibilities

• Participate in project teams to develop digital models of complex real-world systems using commercial and proprietary software tools
• Design, build, and execute constructive simulations and apply design of experiments best practices
• Analyze and synthesize large data sets with various analytic frameworks and statistical methods
• Prepare deliverables (presentations, written reports) and communicate findings to sponsors and stakeholders, balance tasks across projects, and report progress to leads
