Job summary

Takeda in Lexington, MA is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer, Modeling to lead mechanistic and AI/ML modeling for biopharmaceutical process development. You will work in the Data & Modeling Applications Group to optimize upstream and downstream processes and support technology transfer. The ideal candidate holds a Ph.D.

or M.S. in biochemical engineering/biotechnology or data science with 3+ years (PhD) or 10+ years (M.S.) of modeling experience.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in process modeling applications (gProms, GoSilico, BioSolve, SIMCA).
• Familiar with cGMPs for biopharmaceuticals and regulatory submissions.
• Strong communication and ability to present findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• Programming skills (Matlab, Python).

Responsibilities

• Mechanistic modeling of upstream and downstream processes to enhance model-based development.
• Model sustainability and economics of biopharmaceutical manufacturing platforms.
• Perform multivariate process trending analyses for optimization.
• Collaborate with internal and external groups and present findings to stakeholders.
• Develop AI/ML model applications for hybrid models and explore new approaches.
