Job summary

The ASPCA’s Community Medicine team seeks a Senior Veterinary Assistant for our Mobile Veterinary Services in the Greater Los Angeles area. This role supports mobile spay/neuter and primary care, driving the clinic from Paramount to daily sites and assisting the veterinary team with patient care and record-keeping.

Expect 10-hour shifts, four days a week, with occasional longer days. English is required; bilingual candidates are strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to handle cats and dogs daily.
• Strong customer service and client communication skills.
• Ability to explain medical concepts to clients in simple terms.

Responsibilities

• Care for cats and dogs daily for spay/neuter and mobile clinic duties.
• Assist veterinarian and technician with animal handling and anesthesia monitoring.
• Maintain pre-operative area and operating room readiness.
• Enter medical information into digital records.
• Drive and position mobile clinic equipment safely between locations.
• Represent ASPCA professionally to clients and partners.
