Abbott in the United States is seeking an experienced Senior Mobile Software Research & Development Engineer to translate concepts into mobile prototypes and products for Cardiac Rhythm Management applications. You will collaborate across architecture, clinical engineering and marketing to deliver features for CRM mobile apps on Android and iOS platforms.

Qualifications

• 5 years of industry experience in Mobile software development.
• Mobile OS platforms – Android & iOS.
• Mobile software architecture and design patterns.
• Native vs cross-platform architecture.
• Application lifecycle management.
• User interface (e.g., Flutter, SwiftUI).
• BLE profiles and protocols (pairing, etc.).
• Android & iOS SDK Framework and APIs.
• Mobile app programming Java, Swift, C#, JS, Kotlin; familiarity with .NET.
• Validation and Deployment; testing strategy including UI, platform, performance.
• Automation test framework; Mobile Data Management concepts.
• App deployment; OS upgrades and compatibility.
• Xamarin framework and Xamarin Forms UI.
• mySQL or Postgres interface; knowledge of Bluetooth Low Energy concepts.
• Code security concepts – encryption, authentication, certificates; certificate management.
• Cloud interface; Azure cloud services (e.g., Azure IoT Hub).

Responsibilities

• Participate in ideation, front-end research, prototyping through proof-of-concepts and product development of CRM Mobile apps.
• Collaborate with architecture, clinical engineering, system engineering and marketing to develop solutions and prototypes.
• Perform requirements gathering, design, coding and unit testing for Android and iOS platforms.
• Lead development of one or more features and define test strategies and cases.
• Ensure conformance to design specifications, coding standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop or enhance test frameworks for automated development testing across UI and layers.
• Provide technical guidance and leadership to other developers on new features and platform enhancements.
• Stay current with mobile technologies, OS updates, deployment strategies, cybersecurity and UI trends.
