Job summary

Ford seeks a Senior Mobile Product Designer to lead mobile app features from concept through delivery in a hybrid Dearborn, MI role.

You will collaborate with Product, Engineering and Research to set design direction, align teams around customer needs, and deliver high-quality experiences across the Ford Mobile app.

Strong UX and visual design skills, plus a solid portfolio and experience turning data into design decisions, are required to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent education and experience.
• 5+ years of UX/UI or digital product design experience, including consumer mobile products.
• Advanced Figma skills and a strong portfolio of mobile product design work.
• Portfolio shows visual excellence and depth on complex, technical product challenges.
• Experience using research, data, and analytics to guide and validate design decisions.
• Strong communication skills and ability to manage a defined project or feature area.
• A record of leading projects or workstreams across disciplines and influencing partners without formal authority.
• Experience supporting peers through design critique or mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead design end to end. Own feature areas and workstreams from research-informed concepts, flows, and prototypes through polished interfaces.
• Drive next-generation experiences. Set design direction, priorities, and delivery plans centered on customer needs.
• Take on technically complex problems. Design experiences for real-time video, vehicle commands, energy and charging management, and home power integration.
• Apply systems thinking. Find gaps and dependencies across the customer experience, technical implementation, and business objectives, and propose practical solutions.
• Design with evidence. Use user insights, research, analytics, and product data to shape decisions and measure results.
• Lead the design conversation. Facilitate reviews, raise questions, dependencies, and risks early.
• Strengthen the whole. Contribute to Ford's design system and brand standards to keep the app cohesive.
• Raise the bar for the team. Provide thoughtful critique, mentor peers, and share knowledge.
