Job summary

Playlist is seeking a senior React Native engineer to build and evolve cross-platform mobile experiences for iOS and Android. You will partner with Product, Design, and QA to take ideas from concept to release, delivering high-quality interfaces and performant apps.

You will work across networking, on-device storage, and data layers, while leveraging AI capabilities to accelerate delivery and improve product capabilities. Strong collaboration and ownership are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building and shipping cross-platform mobile applications with React Native.
• Strong proficiency with TypeScript and JavaScript; solid language fundamentals.
• Deep experience with the New Architecture (Fabric, TurboModules, JSI) and Hermes in React Native.
• Experience with Expo toolchain (Expo Router, EAS Build/Submit/Update) or equivalent setup.
• Experience shipping to iOS and Android; understand platform differences and native code when needed.
• Experience consuming GraphQL APIs and/or REST; data-fetch patterns (TanStack Query).
• Strong debugging and testing skills across unit/integration/UI.
• Familiar with release pipelines: App Store Connect, TestFlight, code signing.
• Clear communicator; able to collaborate across roles and adopt AI-adjacent tooling.
• AI-native mindset to accelerate quality and output.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve cross-platform mobile experiences using React Native for iOS and Android.
• Partner with Product, Design, and QA to take ideas from concept to production with quality and UX focus.
• Design and implement client-side networking against GraphQL/REST APIs and on-device data layers.
• Ensure reliable data flows, offline support, and robust crash reporting/observability.
• Leverage AI-assisted tooling to accelerate delivery, while maintaining correctness and UX quality.
• Maintain and improve test suites across unit, integration, and UI tests.
• Contribute to engineering culture with autonomous ownership and strong collaboration.
