Job summary

Chime is seeking a Mobile Platform Engineer to shape the future of our React Native app. You’ll build frameworks, tooling, and systems used by hundreds of engineers to improve app quality and performance for millions of members.

The role involves collaborating with product and infrastructure teams, automating mobile CI/CD, and driving platform upgrades across iOS and Android, with a focus on scalable tooling and developer experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of cross-platform mobile development experience.
• Fluent in TypeScript and familiar with React/React Native ecosystems.
• Experience with iOS/Android build, distribution systems, and tooling.
• Proven track record in profiling and improving app performance.
• Familiarity with observability/analytics tools (Bugsnag, Datadog, Sentry, Amplitude).
• Knowledge of GraphQL, Apollo, and schema generation; experience with mobile CI/CD (Bitrise, CircleCI, GitHub Actions).

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain internal React Native frameworks, tooling, and shared infrastructure.
• Collaborate with product and infrastructure teams to improve app quality and performance.
• Automate mobile CI/CD and release orchestration to increase reliability.
• Drive mobile platform upgrades and manage compatibility across native modules and libraries.
• Design and improve tooling to save engineers time and empower others.
• Partner with QA to lead Chime’s mobile release process for iOS and Android.
• Write documentation and guidance to scale knowledge across teams.
