Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a seasoned Software Development Engineer 4 to lead mobile architecture and delivery for Memories applications. You will work directly with Swift and Kotlin code in Xcode and Android Studio, ensuring performance and scalable solutions across devices and networks.

You will manage release trains, feature flags, and app store submissions while setting mobile testing and CI standards. The role emphasizes mentoring peers, collaborating with UX on platform-appropriate patterns,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent professional experience
• Six years of progressive relevant professional experience
• Strong understanding of Agile Software Development methodologies and principles
• Solid base of learning in all primary areas of an n-tier enterprise system
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to mentor and train peers
• Exceptional troubleshooter with timely problem solving under pressure
• Strong skills in engineering/programming, analytical/diagnostic/troubleshooting, web technology, and programming methodology
• Solid understanding of systems and subsystems
• Familiarity with Cloud Based Platforms and services
• Strong understanding of DevSecOps
• Strong understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery principles
• Advanced knowledge of applicable software, languages, and code
• Willingness to learn new technologies
• Professional environment familiarity
• Physical ability to sit and work at a computer for long periods

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and delivery of the Memories applications
• Read, debug, and modify Swift and Kotlin code in Xcode and Android Studio
• Own mobile performance and scalability across devices and networks
• Manage release trains, staged rollouts, feature flags, App Store and Google Play submissions
• Establish the team's mobile standards for testing, code review, and CI
• Mentor engineers strong on web and newer to mobile
• Partner with UX on platform-appropriate patterns
• Produce quality mobile apps shipped to App Store and Google Play
• Identify errors in native code with fluency in AI tools
