Job summary

Capital One in McLean, VA is seeking a Mobile Engineer to build native mobile apps for 100M+ customers. You’ll partner with designers, product managers and engineers to deliver high-performing features, mentor peers, and lead BFF and SDUI initiatives using GraphQL and modern networking.

You will drive architecture decisions, focus on performance and accessibility, and promote automated testing and feature-flag strategies to improve delivery velocity in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related quantitative field.
• At least 4 years of professional software engineering.
• At least 3 years building native mobile apps for Android or iOS.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with designers, PMs and engineers to ship high-quality features for 100M+ customers.
• Provide technical leadership for mobile architecture and design patterns.
• Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews and share platform best practices.
• Lead client Backend-for-Frontends (BFFs) and Server-Driven UI implementations.
• Champion feature flags and staged rollouts to improve delivery and quality.
• Advocate for performance, accessibility and test automation.
