Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Mobile Engineer 4 to lead development of native mobile applications and architectures for Android and iOS. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality features that scale to millions of users, mentor peers, and drive best practices in code quality, testing, and performance.

You will influence mobile platform architecture, contribute to SDUI/BFF patterns, and adopt AI-assisted tooling to accelerate delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related quantitative field.
• At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience.
• At least 3 years of experience building native mobile applications for Android (Kotlin) or iOS (Swift).
• Experience with modern native UI frameworks (SwiftUI, Jetpack Compose) is preferred.
• Experience designing scalable mobile architectures and automated testing.
• Knowledge of performance tuning and monitoring for mobile platforms.

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver high-performing mobile features.
• Provide technical leadership for mobile architecture and design patterns.
• Mentor engineers and conduct code reviews to improve quality.
• Grow expertise in platform areas like performance and accessibility.
• Contribute to mobile architecture decisions and API design reviews.
• Lead the development of Backend-for-Frontends and Server-Driven UI architectures for mobile.
• Promote best practices for feature flags and staged rollouts and AI tooling adoption.
