GlobalLogic is seeking a Senior Mobile Software Engineer to lead Android development for medical devices with BLE communication. The role involves collaborating with iOS teams, QA, and hardware, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

We expect 8+ years in mobile app development (Android/Kotlin), BLE expertise, and willingness to contribute to iOS. Hybrid work in Santa Clara, CA, and a path toward technical leadership.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of mobile application development experience, with 5+ years on Android (Kotlin/Java).
• Hands-on BLE protocols for mobile-device interaction in healthcare or medical apps.
• Deep BLE operations: scanning, connecting, bonding, characteristic read/write, notifications.
• Experience with iOS development (Swift/Objective-C) and CoreBluetooth.</li>
• Familiarity with IEC 62304 and medical device software lifecycle.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum and Git version control.
• Strong analytical, debugging and communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and independent problem-solving abilities.
• Background in object-oriented design and software lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Android mobile apps that connect to medical devices via BLE, ensuring secure data transmission.
• Collaborate with iOS, QA, clinical and hardware teams for cross‑platform coherence.
• Implement BLE workflows: device discovery, secure pairing, bonding, characteristics, and updates.
• Ramp up and contribute to iOS development (Swift/Obj-C) as needed.
• Write clean, tested, and well-documented code following medical device standards (IEC 62304).
• Participate in architecture reviews, risk assessments, and design discussions for regulated software.
• Support validation, verification and regulatory submission with compliant docs and tests.
• Diagnose BLE interoperability issues and user-reported bugs, delivering robust solutions.
• Document software development and testing artifacts per approved procedures.
