Job summary

Highbrow LLC is seeking a Principal Mobile Software Engineer to lead Android development for medical devices. The role emphasizes BLE communication and collaboration with iOS teams in a hybrid Santa Clara setting.

You will drive secure, reliable mobile software aligned with IEC 62304, participate in architecture reviews, and contribute to regulatory documentation and test evidence. Strong leadership and executive problem solving are expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in Android development (Kotlin/Java) for mobile apps.
• BLE protocols for mobile-device interaction in healthcare is preferred.
• Familiarity with medical device software standards and IEC 62304.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Android apps that connect to medical devices via BLE.
• Collaborate with iOS, QA, clinical and hardware teams for cross‑platform consistency.
• Implement BLE workflows: discovery, pairing, bonding, characteristics, updates.
• Ramp up and contribute to iOS development when required (Swift/Obj‑C).
• Write clean, tested code and documentation per medical device standards.
• Participate in architecture reviews, risk assessment, and regulatory alignment.
