Job summary

Reqroute, Inc. is seeking an experienced Android Developer to design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality Android applications written in Kotlin. The role focuses on scalable, secure mobile apps with modern Android architecture and Jetpack Compose UI.

You will collaborate with product managers, designers, backend engineers and QA in an Agile/Scrum environment, ensuring security, performance, and a great user experience. Hybrid work 2–4 days/week in Portland, ME.

Role is hybrid (2-4 days/wk) based out of Portland, ME

Duration: 12 months

Only W2 (NO C2C/1099)

We are looking for an experienced Android Developer with strong Kotlin expertise to design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality Android applications.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building scalable, secure, and high-performance mobile applications using modern Android development practices.

The candidate will work closely with product managers, UI/UX designers, backend engineers, and QA teams to deliver reliable and user-friendly mobile solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin.

Build scalable and maintainable applications using Android SDK and modern Android architecture.

Develop responsive and user-friendly mobile interfaces following Material Design principles.

Work with Jetpack components, including ViewModel, LiveData, Room, Navigation, and WorkManager.

Implement modern UI using Jetpack Compose.

Integrate RESTful APIs and backend services into Android applications.

Work with JSON, authentication, push notifications, and third-party SDK/API integrations.

Implement MVVM / Clean Architecture and appropriate design patterns.

Write clean, reusable, testable, and well-documented code.

Develop unit tests and UI tests and work closely with QA to resolve defects.

Troubleshoot performance issues, crashes, memory leaks, and other production issues.

Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical design and architecture discussions.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Ensure applications meet security, performance, scalability, and usability requirements.

Support application releases through Google Play Store and CI/CD pipelines.
