hatch I.T. in partnership with VIA seeks a Senior Software Engineer specializing in cryptography for mobile platforms. You will design and ship secure native mobile apps for iOS and Android, balancing world-class security with a superior user experience.

You will lead end-to-end mobile development, implement advanced security features, and integrate backend services. Strong cryptography knowledge and Secure Enclaves experience are highly valued in this mission-driven Massachusetts role.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience developing and shipping native mobile applications.
• Proven proficiency in both native iOS development (Swift) and native Android development.
• Direct experience with native mobile security features, including Secure Enclaves (or equivalent).
• Working knowledge of basic cryptography principles and their application in mobile security.

Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end development, testing, and deployment of high-quality native applications for iOS and Android.
• Maintain application performance and ensure broad compatibility across devices and OS versions.
• Architect and implement security-focused features using native mobile security frameworks.
• Implement secure data handling and storage, including Secure Enclaves or equivalent technologies.
• Apply basic cryptography principles for data protection and secure communication within the mobile environment.
• Integrate VIA's backend microservices and secure APIs into the mobile application logic.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and provide technical leadership in mobile app development.
• Clearly articulate complex software designs and processes to diverse audiences.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers and backend developers to ensure seamless, performant functionality.
• Participate in defining and upholding mobile development best practices, code reviews, and automated testing.
