Job summary

BCforward is seeking a Senior Mobile Automation Engineer to design and build automation frameworks for mobile apps using Perfecto and Appium. The candidate will underpin Android and iOS testing with strong Java skills and performance monitoring.

This contract role in Charlotte, NC requires a hybrid work model with onsite presence at least three days per week. The ideal candidate has 5+ years as an SDET/QA professional and solid CI/CD experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
• Proficiency in Java, including test UI automation and framework enhancements with Appium.
• Strong knowledge of mobile automation using Appium and Perfecto.
• Experience with Selenium, TestNG, and CI/CD tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of automated solutions across unit, functional, UI, and performance testing for mobile apps.
• Maintain and scale automated regression suites to adapt to changing features.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams and participate in code reviews.
• Drive automation initiatives and improve overall test quality.

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Mobile Automation Engineer - Perfecto / Appium to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in mobile test automation, Java, Appium, and mobile performance monitoring and a proven ability to design, build, and scale automation frameworks that improve quality across Android and iOS applications.

Engagement Details

• Start Month: November
• Interview: 1-2 rounds. Video required. In-person interview required.
• Glider: ID verification.
• Work Model: Hybrid, minimum 3 days per week onsite in Charlotte, NC.
• Submission Guidance: Max 3 submits per vendor.
• On resume: Include current location or relocation plan, availability or start date, and cooling-off details if applicable.

Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced Mobile Automation Engineer with leadership capability, mobile architecture insight, and strong software development skills. You will lead, design, and develop automated solutions across unit, functional, UI, and performance testing to assure quality on a wide range of mobile devices and tablets. You will collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams and operate with limited guidance in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Apply innovative approaches to uncover issues during development.
• Implement new testing frameworks for future products and features.
• Participate in code reviews of standards, procedures, tools, and quality processes.
• Maintain automated regression suites to remain aligned with changing requirements and features.

• Primary: Perfecto for mobile automation, performance, and monitoring
• Secondary: Selenium

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Proficiency in Java, including developing test UI automation and framework enhancements with Appium.
• Java and shell scripting proficiency.
• Mobile test automation with Appium.
• Selenium and TestNG.
• 5+ years as an SDET and Manual QA professional.
• Hands-on experience with mobile automation tools and frameworks such as Appium, Espresso, or XCUITest.
• Experience designing and building automation frameworks from scratch or with open-source tools.
• Experience with source control and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Perforce, Git, and Bitbucket.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with continuous integration unit tests.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Troubleshooting and issue resolution focus.
