Job summary

Atomic Machines is seeking an experienced MLOps Engineer to join the AI and Modeling & Simulation group within the Data Engineering and Analytics team. You will build and operate infrastructure that takes ML models from experimentation to reliable production - covering training, deployment, serving, monitoring, and continuous improvement.

We are looking for senior-level candidates who can take meaningful ownership of production ML infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building production software, infrastructure, or ML systems.
• Proven production ML systems experience with MLOps/DevOps.
• Strong DevOps skills: CI/CD, containers, Kubernetes, cloud, IaC.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Hands-on with MLflow or similar tooling for experiment tracking, model registry, and lifecycle management.
• Experience with S3 and Iceberg, Airflow or Dagster.
• Experience building multimodal ML data pipelines.
• Familiarity with manufacturing or process data systems.
• Strong problem solving and clear technical communication.
• Bachelor's or Master's in CS/Data related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve the MLOps platform and CI/CD from experiment to production.
• Operate model serving infrastructure for batch, streaming, and real-time inference.
• Create ML data pipelines turning telemetry, graphs, images, time-series into model-ready datasets.
• Maintain ML data infrastructure with lakehouse on S3 and Iceberg.
• Close the model feedback loop with observability and human-in-the-loop feedback.
• Create paved roads for ML development with standardized tooling and workflows.
• Drive technical ownership and shape architecture and engineering practices across the ML platform.
• Collaborate with Process, Chemical, Materials, Simulation, Software, Data, and AI engineers to define deployment and data-collection requirements.
