Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Seattle is seeking a Research Scientist III to develop and apply state-of-the-art machine learning methods to large, multi-source datasets, building risk prevention, detection, and mitigation solutions.

You will contribute to ML Ops infrastructure and shape Amazon’s science roadmap including Gen AI efforts, collaborating with software teams to deploy innovations, and mentoring junior scientists while publishing insights at journals and conferences.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field with 3 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent with 5 years of progressive postbaccalaureate experience.
• 3 years of experience in ML/NLP/Computer Vision research and publishing findings.
• 3 years of experience building ML models, including generative models for business applications.
• 3 years of programming in Java, C++, Python, or related language.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply state-of-the-art ML methods to large, multi-source datasets to build and implement risk prevention, detection, and mitigation solutions.
• Contribute to ML Ops infrastructure and the development of Amazon’s science roadmap, including Gen AI efforts.
• Work closely with software engineering teams to deploy innovations.
• Mentor and coach junior scientists, including lunch‑and‑learn sessions, tech talks, and office hours.
• Publish insights and champion industry best practices at internal and external journals and conferences.
