Job summary

Plaid is seeking a Senior Research Scientist for its Fraud Data team to advance next-generation fraud detection across graphs, sequences, images, and video. You’ll partner with ML Engineers and Data Scientists to translate research into production-ready solutions that scale across Plaid’s network.

You’ll design rigorous experiments, publish findings, and contribute to a cross-functional team spanning Data, Product, and Engineering.

Qualifications

• PhD in Machine Learning, AI, CS, Statistics or related field strongly preferred; equivalent research record considered.
• 2–4+ years of relevant industry or research experience with leadership in research.
• Strong written and verbal communication to convey complex findings.

Responsibilities

• Research and prototype state-of-the-art graph/sequence/multimodal approaches for fraud detection.
• Own and execute a research roadmap translating prototypes into production solutions with measurable impact.
• Publish and share applied research and collaborate with Data, Product, and Engineering groups.
• Leverage Plaid network data to derive insights for scalable fraud solutions.
